Schools Ripper Festival:
Poneke Rugby is hosting the October Ripper Rugby Festival.

The plan is to have a Rugby Ripper Tournament at Kilbirnie Park which is located half way between Wellington Airport and the City. Our Target audience are Year 5 and Year 6 Primary School Students.  (Standard 3 and 4 for those who went to school in the 70's and 80's) Local Primary School in Wellington Central, Eastern and Southern Bays are our target so that transport is kept simple.

For those that don't know what Ripper Rugby is, it's a non contact modified version of rugby where by players have two flags attached to Velcro belt. Defending team members rip the flags off the ball carrier to constitute a rip/tackle and the ball carrier is then required to pass the ball to a supporting attacking player.  There are 6 rips per team before a turnover of possession is required.

The Tournament will be held on 3rd October at Kilbirnie Park. On Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October France play Tonga and Canada play the All Blacks at Westpac Stadium.  Friday 7th October Primary Schools finish Term 3, I imagine that the Schools will be in a real festive spirit but the Junior Club Rugby Season is already well over. Hence this October Ripper Rugby Festival

I have the Schools already booked in and I am actively searching for Sponsors to fund a small School Marquee with the Sponsors Emblem/Logo on the Main Canopy. (3x3 meter)

The Marquee will become part of the school's resources at later summer or outdoor events they promote your fabulous company.
